How we've helped PFA Research
Business overview
PFA has been delivering market research for businesses and organisations for more than 30 years.
The team has grown since 2020 and now employs a core team of six at its base in Tremough Innovation Centre, plus an additional workforce of around 20 researchers around the UK.
Securing our Growth Hub grant was a real win for 2024 – it enabled us to reduce the financial risk of launching What Cornwall Thinks.
How we helped
Support from the Cornwall Growth Hub Grant Programme has enabled PFA Research to launch its insights platform What Cornwall Thinks, against the backdrop of a “tough” year.
What Cornwall Thinks is a digital survey platform calling for Cornish residents to join a research panel and share their voices on a variety of issues - from perceived impacts of tourism and volume of second homes to accessing community facilities.
The grant enabled PFA Research to invest in branding, a new website and marketing campaign to increase survey panellists from the local community.
Robert Rush, Managing Director, says: “Securing our Growth Hub grant was a real win for 2024 – it enabled us to reduce the financial risk of launching What Cornwall Thinks."
He adds 2024 also saw some other positives for the platform: "We engaged the brilliant team at Eight Wire to deliver the platform and campaign, so we were able to ensure our investment stayed with local suppliers.
"We expanded our core team, with the addition of our Senior Insights Lead who joined in January. We’ve delivered some extraordinary insights projects throughout the year, covering healthcare, tourism, hospitality, construction, renewables and many other areas.
“I’m proud of the work that has been going on with our business as we work towards B Corp. We already work to ISO quality standards and the Market Research Society Code of Conduct. There’s a lot of work that goes into the B Corp assessment but it’s important to me that we are creating policies and ways of working that mean something and that we believe in."
He said they achieved the Fair Data accreditation trust mark last year, as well as strengthened their internal governance and organisational systems.
