By Cornish Bakery - 15th September 2025

Cornish Bakery, one of the UK’s fastest-growing, high-end bakery companies, has expanded its relationship with family-run, multi-award-winning, B-Corporation accredited producer St. Ewe to provide more of their free-range eggs for the daily bakes in all of the company’s 69 locations across the country.

The expanded collaboration means that Cornish Bakery is now St.Ewe’s biggest, and most geographically-diverse, bakery and coffee shop sector customer with the supply of over half a million eggs per year, a figure set to increase given the expansion.

St. Ewe Free Range Eggs is based in the heart of Cornwall, driven by a passion for welfare, nutrition, and the finest eggs. The company strives to create a positive impact through their commitment to British farming, progressing their mission to elevate quality produce and be champions of welfare, all while staying true to their key values.

Initially born on the harbourside in Mevagissey in Cornwall, Cornish Bakery now graces 69 locations across England and Scotland.  Officially a Best Company to Work For, the company is committed to making and baking all of their fresh-daily products with optimal ingredients from their highly valued producers and suppliers, many of whom are in Cornwall.

St. Ewe Eggs CEO, Rebecca Tonks said, “At St. Ewe, we believe that the welfare of our hens is paramount. That's why we collaborate with like-minded British family farmers who ensure that our hens live in the best conditions possible, with the freedom to roam and forage in the fresh, clean air. This dedication to welfare not only results in happier hens but also in eggs that are richer in taste. We are more than just egg producers; we are advocates for a better food system.”

Rebecca continued, “By choosing St. Ewe, Cornish Bakery is supporting our dedication to quality, sustainability, and making a difference in the food industry. We’re delighted to be supplying this incredible Cornish-born company right across the UK, in turn supporting their dedication to baking delicious products in beautiful places and spaces for their local communities.”

Cornish Bakery Managing Director Mat Finch says, “Aim higher’ is one of our key values, and it drives us to keep innovating our food across our expanding bakery family. Former Masterchef finalist Arnaud Kaziewicz leads our Proposition and Product Innovation team, and he, and all of our passionate bakers across the UK, are extremely impressed with the quality of the St. Ewe free range eggs.”

Mat continues, “We are proud to be using tens of thousands of these eggs every week across our bakeries. We are also extremely impressed by St. Ewe’s unwavering dedication to standards both in the farming industry overall and in their commitment to each of their farmers and to every single free-range hen. We believe them when they say: ‘you can taste the care and commitment in every egg’ and we are delighted to be folding that value and quality into almost every single one of our freshly made and baked products, in turn, growing and supporting the great work of both of our Cornwall-born companies together.”

Some of the products that Cornish Bakery uses St. Ewe eggs for include its delicious Feta and Pea Tortilla, the widely loved Cornish Pudding and the Apple Crumble scones, alongside the wider range of pastries, tortillas, cakes and viennoiseries, all made fresh daily across every UK bakery.
