Can You Inspire Young Enterprise? Get Involved!

By Young Enterprise - 14th December 2020

Young Enterprise are looking for business people to share their career experiences and opportunities with schools through a short 10-15 minute video that they can record themselves on Teams or Zoom.

Young Enterprise has set up its very own e-learning platform this year – YE Learning Zone. The two online courses currently available on the platform provide opportunities for young people aged 13-19 to develop the vital skills they need to earn and look after their money – these are Route to Success and Employable Me.

A large part of what Young Enterprise does is focussed around engaging business people and connecting them with the young people they support; ensuring that there is a chance for learners to hear about credible, real-life experiences around the world of work.

The chance to submit a short video to be added to the course/s is now open. These videos will provide learners with an insight into the world of work and future pathways, including apprenticeships which are available; as well as an opportunity for them to apply context to what they have learnt during YE's careers-based courses.

Please find detailed guidance below on creating effective videos for Route to Success and Employable Me.

Brief for Employable Me

The briefs contain everything you'll need to create an effective video, as well as instructions on submitting them.

Questions you may like to consider in your 'A day in the Life of a ...' video include:

  • Who are you and what do you do?
  • What's the most important part of your job?
  • What jobs have you done before and how did you did they lead to this one?
  • What skills do you need to do this job?
  • What qualifications do you need for this role?

There are also some good examples of videos received so far on the YE Youtube channel:
